Fuel pump keeps blowing a fuse

I hope this is the right thread place to put this .
I have a 1994 Ford Ranger king cab 4x4 with a three inch lift kit on it .
My problem is the fuse is blowing that goes to the fuel pump . It started out blowing the fuse now and then when it was raining . Well I thought it mite be the fuel pump going bad but after I put the new pump in the truck it lasted about a week and started blowing fuses again . I put another fuse in and it go a few days and blow it . Last week on a 100 mile tripe I got almost there and it burned a fuse on the highway . I tried to put another fuse in and it would blow it as soon as I tried to start the truck . Burned five fuses right then . So I had it towed to mothers house and put another fuse in and it cranked up . I looked at the wiring that was not wrapped in that plastic cover stuff and have not found anything yet . I need someone smarter than me to give me an idea what this could be . Thank you .

I don't have the truck here at my house but from what I have been reading it could be a short where the wires go through the fire wall . Sound's like I got a short some where . The fuse in it is in the box under the hood . I put new relays in it all so . Hope this helps

It's obviously a short circuit, that's why the fuse is blowing.

Use the owner's manual to identify WHICH fuse it is, otherwise, we can't help much except by guessing. Or, take a picture of the fuse box and indicate which fuse it is.

Thanks projectSH089 but my truck is at my mothers a 100 miles away with the book . I am going up there in the morning (using her truck ) and see if I can find the short . I do not have a Wifi connection up there so I well not be able to log in to see new post on this . If I can not find the short I am going to run a new wire to the battery with a switch to cut it on and off to the pump .

According to the service manual, there is no fuse 18 under the hood, it's an empty slot.

F18 under the dash on a 94 Ranger doesn't go to the fuel pump. It's a HOT IN RUN fuse that feeds power to the O2 sensor heater(s).

You'll need to clarify what's what including identifying which engine and transmission is installed.... There are significant differences.

That is what it says on the box lid number 18 with a 20 amp fuse . It's got a 4.0 in it with a manual transmission . I had to run a wire with a switch and inline fuse from the battery to the fuel pump to get it home where I could switch the pump on and off . It did fine on the 100 mile trip home but what ever is going on is killing the battery over night even with the stock fuse out that runs the fuel pump . I am 54 and have been a shade tree mechanic all my life and am pretty good at what I do but I have traced all the wiring in that truck and can not find any thing .

EDIT : I well get a pic of it and try and post it . Thanks for trying to help me
