Does the 6.0L have exhaust manifold bolt issues?

Doing up pipes on the EX and while I am under the truck pondering my next move with 2 stubborn bolts, I notice that I am missing 1 exhaust manifold bolt.

So that has me wondering does the 6.0L have an exhaust manifold bolt issue like the V-10's?

It's not a problem unless someone didn't tighten or over tightened the bolt. Did you probe the hole to see if it's snapped or just fell out?
It's not nearly as common as it was on the old Dodges with the 360s. I think every truck in the fleet had the back bolt with the head popped off at one time or another. Drilling them out was time consuming.

Over the years I have seen a few people comment about a missing or broken exhaust bolt. I had one on my original motor, drivers side. I still have two of those bolts in my Powerstroke parts box as when I went to install one the bolt had broken off and I didn't want to pull the manifold at the time. 10k later I replaced them all the expensive way.

Be thankful you don't own a 5.3 GM then, I've done three on it and finally ended up just buying that bracket that bolts over top of it. No issues since then.

It really is kind of funny with the V10's, seems every other one I meet is missing one or more bolts. It's not hard to pick them out before you even see them, sound like Hoover vacuum cleaner about ready to implode.

Daughters 4 cylinder Dakota would snap the front manifold bolt app. every year and Chryslers fix was to install a new head and manifold. That vehicle went away with the warranty.

I like stage 8 locking fasteners but don't think they have them for the 6.0 manifolds.

I had 3 that snapped off, the rest of the bolt came right out, no issues.
