48 States / 14,000 Miles (Pic Heavy)

Most have you have read already that I have a lot of traveling to do this year for both personal and business. If I can stick to my planned routes, we will be hitting the 48 states by the end of the year.

My goal with this thread to to post up pictures of the travel and hopefully pictures of meet ups with other members.

We did our first leg already which took us thought Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, and North Carolina.

Yes the two little ones are still rear facing at 3 and 1 yr old. The 3 yr old does not seem to have any problem with it and we will most likely keep him rear facing until 4.

View from the campground in Tennessee when we stopped to hang out with Tom and his wife.

On the way down there is when we had the problem with the lower boot on the down pipe of the turbo. It kept popping off and we couldn't get it to stay on. Once we finally did, the boot ripped apart.

Once we got to Texas I ordered new boots and clamps from Riff Raff.

So the next trip was just my business partner and myself. We left Maryland and headed for the Kentucky Derby where we were putting on an event with The Chive and Harley Davidson.

We didn't make it out of Maryland before more truck issues....

The same lower boot kept popping off again. It happened 3 times before calling a tow truck. The tech got it on correctly and explained the "proper" way it needs to be installed and sent us on our way. I removed the tune from the truck and pulled the rest of the trip with the stock tune just in case.

We made it the rest of the way with no issues. The party was a blast, sorry I didn't get any pictures of the event but I am sure I will find a few on our social media pages in the next few days.

I did get the chance to check out one hell of a bourbon collection......

We got loaded up and I headed to Myrtle Beach solo.

A little bit of advice; also get fuel before heading into the Smoky Mountains, especially when pulling a big ol' trailer. I was sweating bullets for a bit. Truck took 42.88 gallons.

A quick view from the station.

I am now in Myrtle Beach and this will be my home until the 22nd. I will make sure I get some good pics of the event to share with you all.

Amazing Twitch!

Once I get some debt knocked out I want to get a travel trailer and hit the road for a few weeks to see this beautiful country again.

I was trying to get as big of a bite on the boot as possible. Apparently the correct way is to put the boot on the pipe as much as possible and place the clamp on the bot to where only a small sliver of the boot shows on the outer side of the clamp.

As far as how much torque to tighten the clamps to; the oem ratings are not enough so basically tighten them down just short of stripping them out if you are using a metal tube. If you are still using a plastic tube, the oem torque specs are decent.

You can look at the picture of the boot in my previous post and see the difference in clamp position. Too bad you can't get a good idea of how much tighter the clamp is now compared to before.

If it happens again, the chainsaw may play a roll in it.

July or August. We are not sure if we are hitting the west coast before or after Sturgis.

So I don't have to extend them as far out. I am not great at the whole leveling thing yet but I hate bounce.

Unfortunately, my wife's vacation time for this year is already written in stone, but I'm going to look into us coming up there for a few days. Probably not possible, but when else will there be a couple of forum members camping in the next state over ? How cool would that be ?

Hey Twitch..... what CG are you guys staying in over this way ? PM it to me if you prefer.

I will have to look up the one in Maine, I believe it is in Bay Harbor.

As far as when we are in Laconia, we will be at Faro's Italian Grill, called The Roadhouse/Lobster Pound during bike week.
