Angry New Diesel Owner with Problem!!!

I bought a 2003 F250 6.0...When I start it sounds like it has a miss and runs rough...the owner said he replaced some of the injectors on it and it still missed. He thought it was a rod or other injectors.. Be for I send it to the dealer to look at. I was hoping some one could give me troubleshooting points. I spent $ 6500 on the vehicle, so I don't want to have to pay a lot more if it cant be fix...Thanks

You could spend a lot of money throwing parts at it, but I have to say there's not too much on a diesel motor that's not going to get expensive to fix.

The first think a new owner should have in a monitor, something like a ScanGage or others typically mentioned here so data and codes and be reviewed and discussed.

Second, with an unknown vehicle history I would spend the money on having a Ford IDS test done where a relative compression test and an injector test, compensated and uncompensated, can be done along with a review of any existing codes. When anyone has asked me personally what they should do to check out a vehicle, that is what I tell them face to face.

These trucks are too complicated and expensive to try to diagnose anything by guess.

Where are you located? You might have someone close by that can do a scan for you.

I second a type of live data monitoring tool, such as ScanGauge 2. But a bad or low voltage FICM can make this issue appear as well, until the engine is warm.

Get a live data scanner!

Thanks - P
