Thanks for the update.

Your bad news isn't all that bad in this business and is better than some of our projects.

The project sat for a couple of months while we had visitors and were on the road. Somewhat turning a corner now, I hauled the frame, cab and sheet metal parts over for sandblasting. I looked hard for a trailer to get the whole rig off the ground but the only ones I could rent required a 3/4 ton truck. I settled on a tow dolly, checked the oil in the rear end, pumped up the 30 year old tires and off she went. Each big bump in the road was cause for much cringing, but she made it 20 miles to the shop. Next up, priming and starting to build on top of that frame.

You have quite a challenge restoring a truck in your area, not much room to work with!

It turns out the cab has a serious case of cancer

Holes in the hood too

Not sure if keeping the doors is economically viable yet or not.

Sandblasting is an unvarnished assessment of sheet metal condition. Your mission is to determine whether you can trade money for time.

Just something to keep in mind, all of the trim is stainless and as long as it is straight it will buff up and look brand new, a good buff wheel and some stainless rudge and getting dirty, just don't throw anything away, also welcome:

sand blasted parts

It looks like your parts are as blasted. Remember you are near the ocean. Parts will start rusting very soon. I would prime with rattle can or get them primed very soon.

I wouldn't use rattle can primer, I'd get epoxy on it instead..

Lots of movement on my project here recently. Which is another way to say I've started spending money...

1)Welding in parts to reinforce the frame
2)Picked up short block from the machine shop
3)Received headers, carbs & head from Clifford Performance
4)Solid state ignition parts ordered
5)Fuel & water pumps ordered
