tail light question

Hi

I have a 59 F100 and I need to find new tail light assemblies. I would like led lights but I dont know where to get them. I checked LMC and they dont carry the ones that I need anymore.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Patrick

Two different types of tail lamps, is it a Flareside or Styleside?

Sorry Its styleside. I have the old housing and I would like to buy that new as well. If not I guess I can always clean it up and throw a coat of paint on.

I cleaned my old tail light bases and powder coated them chrome and used LED bulbs, Just have to make sure your grounds are super clean. If i did it again I would solder grounds to the base cup and run them back to the frame. Also use a flasher made for LED's. I got my bulbs from https://www.superbrightleds.com/ One of the issues with running LED bulbs in the brake lights showed up when I put the cruise control in, they pull such a small amp that the system would not shut down when you stepped on the brakes, so the fix was to add a relay to that leg to sense the brake light coming on. all works well now and the turn signals front and back and tail lights are nice and bright.

Lower picture from 1957/63 truck parts catalog.

The 1957/60 Styleside bed was also used on some 1961/66 F100/350's, but even though they look similar, 1961/66's used different tail lamp bodies than 1957/60.
