The Police Tagged my '49 F1 the other day...

I suppose like everything it's always a matter of degree. Based on all of your descriptions I'm sure I agree with all of you. On the other hand. I live across the street from an alcoholic who's getting disability from the government for HIS disability. Yard is dead, roof caving in, rodents everywhere. Abandoned truck in his driveway. A perfectly healthy 28 year old son who must also be on the government teat. The city came out and told him he had to put a car cover on his truck. He did,,,,,put a compact car cover on the truck which ended up laying in his yard with the first breeze. When the house next door went up for sale the only people who would buy it were people just like him. My resale value is in the crapper. Every time I work in the yard I can't help but think of Clint Eastwood in Grand Torino. When I worked on my old truck regularly it was in the driveway. When progress stalled I moved it to the backyard. Worth saying again, it's all a matter of degree.

Reading your discussion I'm wondering what odanance they are using to "tag" you with. It doesn't sound like you are keeping a messy property. Do they have a limit to the number of vehicles, abandon vehicles, or a prohibition to keeping trailers in your yard?
Worth checking into. The city must have an ordance to back up their play.......

The ordinance that they are using is "Storage of a Vehicle" they are saying that I'm storing a vehicle on the Public Right Away. Our house isn't a eye sore or anything. I think they don't like my truck is just spray can primer, but since I don't know who is complaining about the truck. So I can't ask them!

48 Steel, Yep that's the one... I was lucky and found it with it only on there for a short time, so it came off fairly easy. Those stickers can be a bitch if they are left on too long... never try and just rip one off... the trick is to remove it "sooner the better" and always use a razor blade.

Well this time they complained about one of my '95 2 door Tahoe... They called the police 3 times to complain... The police didn't tag it this time (I took down my sign on the front gate that said "Dogs on Premises", so they came and talked to Laurie this time). I moved the Tahoe into the driveway. Will see how long my neighbor's broken vehicle (front end problems) is in the street before he gets tagged! Already been 3 days.

Had a similar problem years ago in a very small town 64 impala in front of my house not registered and got a letter from the town threatening to tow my " derelict " vehicle . I had coffee with many of the town council every morning and instead of just asking this was their solution . I plated the car moved it back 4 feet and left it there the rest of the winter , they never bothered me again .
