Easiest and cheapest is to find an engine/trans/tcase donor. I'm not a fan of nv4500's, so the next cheapest method is to find a ford adapter from a bread truck or something of the like.
The engine is typically not expensive, you will spend a copious amount of time getting your gauges working and ironing out swap kinks. Clutch, adapter, trans, mounts all add up quickly to be thousands.
When swapping or building: if it's easy it's not cheap, if it's cheap it's not easy. You can crack open a catalog or click away on a website for parts required for the swap and it'll cost a fortune quickly but bolt right together, or you can invest lots of time fabbing mounts and patiently waiting to find others at a good price.
It can be done for as little as little as 2k, or as much as 15k depending on power levels, accessibility/choice of drivetrain components, and your willingness to fab stuff yourself and wait for parts to fall in your lap.
Google and craigslist are your friends.
