EBPV sensor swap raised a question

Ok today I swapped out my EBPV sensor and tube. Looked like maybe the tube was swapped not too long ago. Was in good shape.
Had some drama getting the sensor loose and that side of the tube. Called in a friend to help.

So the little dinky bracket that hold the sensor and tube looks silicone sealed on the block. If I had removed those two bolts could I have removed the bracket for easier cleanup??

How often should we be loosening this stuff up and cleaning it up and out??

I went ahead and swapped both sensor and tube. I think I will cleanup what I took off for spare's. Or if someone needs a tube later.

Hoping for better mileage cause mine was clogged four shore.

Yes. Removing them does make it somewhat easier to clean. Just have some sealant handy when you reassemble. Also, they do get warped and bent a bit which will cause oil leaks.

I think Riffraff has a billet replacement. I have never seen one in person so I can't speak to the quality. Most of Clay's stuff is top notch....

So there is indeed oil pressure behind that plate?

I believe that plate you speak of is the cover plate for the HPOP gear bolt.

No. There is no oil pressure. But there is oil that is present due to it lubing the cam gear and HPOP gear and it may be the return path for the HPOP reservoir overflow.

Gotcha! Appreciate it.

A quick little removal tip that worked great, used a wood door wedge between socket and tensioner pulley.
Held everything nice and tight. Still had 9/16 wrench underneath as well.
Fun part I had was the tube side.
