Anyone ever use a Trailer Valet XL to move a trailer?

Mine isn't as interesting as the Trailer Valet. But it does what I need it to do.

 

Thanks for the response, I have about a 9,000 lb (loaded) trailer that I need to move in tight quarters, and I don't think I could do it without some mechanical assistance.

 

Nope, my dolly isn't going to carry even close to that much weight.

I do use my Polaris Ranger 900 when I need to move small-ish trailers. I once pulled a 20KW single axle generator through a field. The Ranger is rated to pull 2,000 lbs but I'm guessing that the generator was north of that. Still, it would never pull the 9,000 lbs you're looking at.

 

I have been looking at these also. I have read some bad reviews for the smaller model; however, the posted video on their site appears to address many of these concerns (turning sharp corners and going up inclines) with the XL model and the use of the drill will make it easier. My trailer is in an enclosed space without a direct path so I thought this might make things better.

 

If I get one it will be in about a month, I will let you know if I get it, and how it works out.

 

Thats about the same timeframe I am looking at so we can share the joy or misery together...

 

I have only moved my trailer empty so far but I don't see why it would not move my trailer & drag car if needed.

The rear hitch is hydraulic so I just back up to the trailer move the lever and up it goes.
I can add weight to the tractor front if need be to keep it down.
I also use the tractor for mowing 4 acres, front 4 way plow, and garden tools to the rear for the 25'x50' garden.


Don't over look a small tractor for the job.

I suspect a 9000 lb trailer would make a lawn tractor do wheelies.

 

If I had four acres of land I would not be looking at these. I am required to park in public storage and depending on what others are doing around my parking space, it can be difficult to navigate it back into the enclosed garage. If I can just pull in close at an angle and drop the trailer, my hope is to hook it up to this and swing it around and back into the spot. I don't see a time when the trailer would be loaded (3,800 empty) when I pick it up or drop it off so this should work as the area is rather level on concrete/asphalt.

 

Finally got a chance to use it on blacktop, I was actually amazed at how well it works. Empty trailer weighs 4,660 lbs and I had about 1,000 lbs of gear it it moving it up a slight incline, it was so easy I couldn't believe it.

I will be using it on gravel in a couple of weeks, hopefully it works just as well.

 

I have the same dolly. It works great as long as I'm smooth level ground. I'm just not strong enough to push 5,000 lbs up a hill

 

Full disclosure, I have no first hand experience with this product. I served in the U.S. Coast Guard for several years, some of our stations that had limited parking used this and swore by it.

Just gots to use it in gravel, it slips a little, but still works, I have a long driveway with now where to turn around, couldn't turn the trailer without it

 

ever think of putting a receiver on the front so you can push rather than back the trailer in? My dad had one on a 67 f200, for launching the boat it was 2WD so the drive wheels stayed up on solid ground, we also used it for moving farm trailers loaded with grain, Much easier when you can see where your going.
