Brake pedal return spring

Is there a brake pedal return spring supposed to be on my 1974 f350?
My pedal wiggles against the brake light switch and my lights flicker.

The parts catalog shows a return spring for the clutch but not one for the brake pedal. The brake light switch itself has some adjustment to it. You can move it in or out.

If it has the linkage style between the master and booster, the pivot points can and do get froze up & that will cause it not to return. No matter the style of a push rod a bad master can cause it to not return.

Lube the pivots and it should help, or adjust the switch (or if the switch itself isn't functioning correctly just replace it).

Bad master would have other symptoms.

Mike, the OP has a 1974 F350, so this is the correct pic.

7A600 is the clutch pedal assist spring.
