Trying to get her back on the road...

Well... temps are going up and it's time to try and get the X fixed and back on the road. I've started the POR15 process but now I need help with a couple of things...

The fuel filler neck... mine is swiss cheese... does one off a same year range superduty work? If not where can I get one for less than the dealership $500 price tag? Anyone parting out a rust free X?

Also... the front pump seal on the tranny... Mark already told me what I need to get to stop my tranny leak but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Transtar has some online registration thing and it won't let me register... I don't want to buy it at the local dealership because they quoted me around $275 for the viton seal, TC hub bushing, pump seal and gasket with the TC bolts...

Rear driveshaft u joints... wheres the best place to get them? I'm seeing alot that say they fit but all have different cap diameters?

I really can't wait to get her going again... been sitting almost a year I really want to fire it up and get the juices flowing and see what else has gone bad from sitting. Baby #5 is coming in about a month and my '09 Grand Caravan isn't cutting it with 3 carseats and 2 booster seats

OP where are you located?

Stick with Dana and Spicer for the u-joints.

Tousley Ford (now AutoNation Ford) has changed so much, and I haven't priced anything there in a long time, so I dunno if they still have the same prices as Tasca, but if they do, depending on where a person is located, Tousley may have better shipping rates since they are in Minnesota.

IIRC, Steve, who used to be at Tousely and manned their online presence on all the different auto forums (they were SV's here previously), moved to Tasca a few years ago. When that happened I kept watching the prices advertised at Tousley and they never went up.

I dunno if that's still the case tho or not.

Have you asked Mark if he knows of another source different than the ones Camo suggested?

I used to have an account at Transtar, that's where I bought most of my parts. For a one time purchase they probably are not the best choice.

I did a quick search and found this: E4OD, 4R100 Transmission Parts Ford Transmission Parts RWD They show the updated Viton seal for a whopping $5.60. Yep, under six bucks. Everything else you need is there. I don't know this company, I just found them on Google.

Tousley has 5 warehouses with millions in inventory, when i first bought my excursion(6 years ago!) i was amazed at what they had in stock. They still have great pricing, even in person by mentioning the online pricing. They seem to have almost everything or can get it quickly
