80,000 miles on truck, time for maintenance!

So, I figure this is a good time to get together a list of what should be done on the truck. The truck is out of warranty as well so I'm debating some upgrades as well. I've got 80,000 miles on the truck and don't know the service history and will be doing all the work myself. Here's my plans:

Spark plugs (OEM updated 13+ plugs, 6 plugs)
Air filter (not sure yet, maybe aftermarket)
Seat filters (OEM updated filters, 2 filters)
Fuel system service (full Wyn's direct injected service, sold as a kit)
Coolant flush (OEM fluid, no flush chemical, 16.5 quarts)
Transmission flush (BG full synthetic fluid, no flush chemical, 13.1 quarts)
Front diff service (Mobil 1 75W-90, 2 quarts)
Rear diff service (Mobil 1 75W-140, 3 quarts)
Transfer case (BG full synthetic fluid, I have the torque on demand 4Auto case, 2 quarts)
Drive belt (OEM belt)

I'm debating going to an aftermarket intake setup and replacing the factory one but am not sure yet. As far as the other stuff goes I don't think there's any other upgrades to do. Anything I may have missed that should be inspected or replaced or performed?

Just a little confused. Whats the bing hang up with BG fluid? Not a mercon lv compliant fluid for the transmission or the TOD transfercase. Also what power steering fluid do you plan on flushing and what cabin air filter?

The BG fully synthetic ATF is an approved fluid for Mercon LV which is the same as what the TOD transfer case takes. I completely forgot about the newer F-150's having electric assist! Slipped my mind last night as I was thinking about the maintenance on my F-250 and was applying the same principles. lol I hadn't gone looking for a cabin filter but I assumed since my 2013 Flex had one the F-150 had one too but glad to hear that's also one less thing to do too! Thanks for the help!

EDIT: Also just realized the oil was just changed 500 miles ago so I can scratch that too.

Brake fluid always gets overlooked.

Not sure how I forgot about that! My plan though is to change it when I replace the brakes as I will most likely be powder coating the calipers and brackets.

Are you saying you only plan to drain and refill transmission? I would opt for filter change as well as fluid change.

I will be flushing it using the BG fluid exchanger. It removes the old fluid and exchanges it with new fluid.

It would be wise to change the COP boots while you're in there for the plug swap. Cheap insurance at about $4 each.

That's a good idea as well and one I remember from back in the 5.4 spark plug days. Haha

just check one or two and look at the condition of the Spark plugs before you change them.
don't ge the open / exposed Air filter they bring too much dirt into the motor.

complete waste of moeny will do NOTHING - "Fuel system service (full Wyn's direct injected service, sold as a kit)"

good idea - Coolant flush (OEM fluid, no flush chemical, 16.5 quarts)
Transmission flush - just change - no 'flush"
Front diff service (Mobil 1 75W-90, 2 quarts) don't forget the friction modifier
Rear diff service (Mobil 1 75W-140, 3 quarts) needs friction modifier as well
Transfer case (BG full synthetic fluid, I have the torque on demand 4Auto case, 2 quarts) wont hurt or really help at 80k
Drive belt (OEM belt) no idea what this is ?? serpentine belt ???

Curious if the BG machine can do heated exchanges.
If it can't you'll have to find somewhere that can. The 6r80 has a thermostat that only sends about 10% of the fluid through the coolers until the temp is up around the 180-190 degrees range. Because if this, a conventional flush machine wont result in a full fluid exchange.

Have to say, I disagree with most of this.

I've found fuel cleaners to be very beneficial.

Can't figure out an open diff would require a friction modifier. If this is a 2011+ truck, it most likely does not have a limited slip in the rear, thus it wouldn't be needed there either. (I realize some do still have the LS rear, but except the heavy duty payload package and XL, it wasn't available beyond 2010)

Regardless, Mobil 1 is pre dosed with friction modifier, so adding more is rarely needed.

Based on my experiences, 80k is a good time to do the transfer case. I've done all of mine around 100k and the fluid was really dark and should have been done much earlier IMO. I think that 60-80k range is a good target.

The diffs could wait until 150k or so in my experience. I changed my expedition at about 130k and the fluid looked really good still. The gear oils now are really good and hold up very well for a long time.

Just my thoughts.
Worth exactly what you paid.

Incorrect, my Limited has a 3.73 Limited slip rear end. Thank god.

Could have been standard on the limited.

Never paid much attention to the toys at the top of the ladder :P. For the most part, though, in 2011 they replaced the LS with the elocker. In 2012 they brought back the LS in the XL trucks with the 5.0 and 3.55's.

Actually, it looks as though the LS was available in 2011 from base to loaded, I'm thinking it was 2012 when the e-locker became the go to.

If the fluid in the transfer case is the same LV that's in the transmission, it'll be dark from new. I feel the transmission and transfer case should be serviced at the same time.
