Companies like Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Ferrari, Aston Martin, McLaren, Porsche, and Rolls Royce might not be cutting corners that much. They all have some premium cars for sale that each cost from $1 to $8 million bucks.
Well?...you said 'all auto companies'...

I don't think Rolex is in the biz of making timepieces either; they are similarly jewelry for the rich.
And even those companies would probably like to contain costs to provide more bonuses for their execs, or more money to fund their racing programs. I remember reading some years ago that 50% of the cost of a Ferrari went to racing efforts, not the car you were buying.

butt jewelry
Shiny, loud, flashy, expensive, custom, poor handling, uncomfortable, and yet, they attract women by the dozens.
Wait....now where do I get me one?

Those are the newer mid-life crisis vehicles---used to be a Corvette! Talk about stereotypes huh?

diversion
Yes, but, many of these choppers, baggers, customs, and groundpounders are ridden by younger guys with enough money to buy a $50,000 toy for weekend play.
I have seen many of them with a paint job that cost more than my house did (25 years ago)....
And yes, this:
Guilty, once again.

You're alright in my book----no complaints about a hijacking especially when I can and do relate to it sooooooooo well!
BTW traits I tend to seek in datable women do include:----Don Quixote was also a hero of mine!

motorcycles are like women...
Some of my friends and acquaintances in the two-wheel world ask me why I choose to ride my current motorcycle, a 2 wheel drive Ural sidecar rig, which is made in Russia.
I have had all manner of street and dirt bikes in my 50 years of riding them, including three very nice Harleys.
But this Ural is slow, handles poorly, it's uncomfortable, kind've ugly and awkward, not at all suitable for highway travel, and yet, it is the most fun motorcycle I have ever owned. The complete mastery of something so odd is a feeling that cannot be duplicated anywhere else.
We all have reasons why we are drawn to something, or someone, and as motorcyclists we like to say, "If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand."

To TX2:
One statement I've always enjoyed was something to the effect of: "taste is subjective........." and in most cases that's entirely true. One of my buddies is a huge KTM rider, constantly bashing Harley as 100 year old technology and on and on. Yet when it comes to posers he's one of the biggest I've ever known, seems to assume if he's into something it must be The Holy Grail.
When I remind him women are more drawn to Harley's he has no reply, tends to change the subject. Perhaps the rock crumbles just a bit in the face of truth?
I'm in full agreement the "don't understand........" bits too.
