In other news, dug up a skeleton on my new Kia. Found this writing on the timing cover of the engine...
Got to thinking...is that from a junkyard? Crawled around this morning and found this plate on the back of the block:
Hey! That's a VIN! Ran it through CARFAX...attached is the result. Previous owner was a former Kia master tech...he neglected to tell me that he replaced the freaking engine. I'm not upset about it, the new engine appears to have a better maintenance history than the car does. Wish he would have told me though, I would have still bought the car.

Morning
Calling for an oil change at Monaco this morning. On the Saturday the orange engine light came on and I did all my short runs and the light was there every time I started the truck. On Sunday morning started the truck to come home and the light was gone. Did my running around and the light never came back. I figure I had better they check that light out while it's at Monaco.
There talking rain all week and I have my in-laws up from Myrtle Beach for the next two weeks.

Morning guys, day off today.
I don't think I am going to put a massive inverter in the back of my truck. I was revisiting the formulas to calculate wire size, etc and It's a lot to make that big of an inverter work that far away in the truck. I think I'll just stick with a smaller one.
Thinking back to the Inverter I installed for westbrook fire department back in 2008, I believe it was a 3500w continuous inverter, forget the peak but the calculation worked out to well over 300 amps of potential draw and with the length of the wire run to get it in to the service body where its located, I had to order 6/0 cable and then wave solder the ends onto the terminals and hook it directly to the alternator (truck was a 2 alternator set up).
If you're ever interested in putting an inverter into your vehicle, this is a handy calculator, they also take into account inefficiencies:

You can wire two batteries together in series to step up the voltage and reduce the amperage requirements as a cheat, also that gives you a second battery to help power the inverter but I don't have the room for two batteries haha

Evening guys, messed around with the lights tonight, found a good spot for them, it's not as high up ad I'd like so I'll definitely be using all four lights. Also hooked them to my meter and they only draw .164 amps so I can use one switch for all of them. Bought some sheet metal to make the mounting plates, I'll make them tomorrow!

Good evening everyone!
Thanks for the link on the wiring, very informative. May be wiring an inverter into the Transit at some point. That one is going to be easy though, the battery box is in the base of the driver's seat.
In other news, completed the hitch wiring install tonight. Used the factory wiring kit with an aftermarket hitch. Looks pretty decent.
