Injector replace
Finally got around to replacing the injectors. Really wanted to wait till I did the head gaskets, but it was running so bad I couldn't wait any longer.
I got the injectors off Craigslist, they are Ford rebuilds the where installed in a 2008 van. The van was diagnosed with bad injectors and all where replaced, then a knock was found so the rig was parted out, very low (0) miles on them.
A bore scope really helps making sure the injector cups are clean, and found a engine cleaning brush kit at Harbor Freight that has ss and brass wire brushes, and nylon brushes. The bores just took a little cleaning with the nylon on my engine. The inside of the engine wasalso REALLY clean!
Did find out that I don't have a 3/8" Torque wrench that will go to 26ftlbs. My 3/8 only goes to 200inlbs. I ran down to the pawn shops in the nearest town. First one didn't have one that would work, went to the second pawn shop and found a snap on 3/8 flex head, got it for $100.
Sure does run better!
