well the van runs! after finding out i have a bad battery in my truck also... had a extra battery that wouldn't fit but had enough gusto to fire up that 460. did a nice 25' burnout out of my driveway that 460 had more go than i thought it would.

figured out whats wrong with the transmission....speedometer and odometer don't work with a flashing overdrive light which all should inter tie with a wonky shifting transmission. now i have a understanding of whats wrong, hopefully a 25 dollar speed sensor fixes it.

along with registering and smogging it hopefully this week ill try to work on cleaning the trash and food wrappers out, maybe rent a carpet cleaner and clean the seats and carpet.

Engine must be in pretty good shape if you can still do a 25' burnout.

Just catching up:

That's NOT an eight-inch floppy. That's a 5-1/4-inch floppy.

The larger ones are different.

Did you know that in CA, the seller of any vehicle, must have either smogged that vehicle within 90 days, or if not, have it smogged first, to sell to you/new owner.
Not sure you want to pursue and save a few bucks, however, if it doesn't pass, now your holding the bag to fix.
Again, something you may have determined when you bought it so cheap.

yeah i knew what i was getting into, with the back fees and it needing smog. the prospect of them getting the vehicle running and ready for smog after 2 or 3 yrs of sitting was just not going to happen.

put a battery in today, i hate not having turnkey stuff.... then i ran under the radar over to the gas station and put some fuel injector cleaner in for the heck of it and 20 gallons of 91 octane. going to go smog it here soon to get the registration process going....that parts going to be interesting.
