Engine Build

Engine Build
I've been building on my sons 302 engine for his 52 ford pickup we are going to install with a C4 automatic transmission. I have a few things that need to be installed on the engine yet like the water pump, fuel pump ect. so we can insert in the frame. I think he is going to enjoy the ride after I get it finished. This is a rebuild from the ground up with front disc brakes and a different rear end and different rear springs alone with other things to improve his old truck for a daily driver. If anyone has a seat or knows of one from another vehicle that will work I would love to purchase it.

Looking good so far. Should scoot along pretty well in the old truck. Seats can come from many different vehicles. Lots of threads on the subject. I'm going to use the ones from my Windstar that I scrapped. The little console thing too. Tried to rotate the pics but don't have the savvy I guess. Keep up the good work.

IBRAUER, looks like a nice build. We are going with the original since we have it. My grandson wants it original. I personally would have considered a different path. I own an 03 Tahoe that has some great seats. I do not know how they would fit up but I think they would be worth checking out. What I like about them is the shoulder strap is made in the seat. I don't know if any other seats are like that but I think that would be a plus by having the seat and shoulder belts without having to reinforce the cab for a shoulder strap. Anyway, good luck as you proceed.

Jim and Austin,
When I still had my 52 ford truck I put seat belts in it but bought the cab reinforce panels for the shoulder straps and they worked out very well. There is not much to putting them in place and after the headliner is installed you can hardly tell that they are there. The only thing you can see is the bolt that holds the strap on. I sure wished I still had that old truck but as things go you need the money to do another project so you sell what you have. In my case it was a complete new kitchen for the wife and all new appliances, counter top, cabinets and ect. Well worth the money spent but it still doesn't replace the truck I lost.
