My 06 F-250 is Killing me!

There is definitely something wrong somewhere then. Plenty of us on here pull much more than that with lesser engines and don't struggle to maintain 45 mph. That kind of weight ought to make it rev a little(3,000 rpm or so), but shouldn't have any problems running the speed limit up hills.
You're a driver, have you pulled up to the Eisenhower tunnel recently? It's been a few years for me, but I remember lots of gasoline-powered vehicles pulling lighter than the OP struggling to maintain 35 MPH up that hill. Saw a V10 badge on one of them.

Eesh...I don't really agree with that. It's hill dependent, but there are plenty of ills I've climbed before that would bog down a 5.4L with that kind of weight. Especially once you start climbing thousands of feet above sea level.

One thing I have found with my short bed Super Cab truck is aerodynamics can play a huge difference in how the truck tows. Mine works best if I remove my bed cover and have my tailgate up. My trailer seems a lot heavier and my fuel mileage drops if I leave the bed cover on, or remove the bed cover and the tailgate. YMMV.
