Steering gear box Removal

New question for the sages. Should I ty to remove the Pitman arm from the gear box shaft or from the tie rod?

Is heat okay to apply? ( I know I'll need to buy a new boot )

Or is there a recommended puller?

Get a pitman arm puller. I don' think heat is a good idea around the steering box.
