See attached, I hope this is helpful. This is from the '04 Super Duty shop manual 4R100 section. The 4R100 is very closely related to the E4OD, so the pinouts may be correct.

Sorry, that's the best I've got.

I've never seen another digital copy like that one, I got that a few years ago from someone on FTE. Send me a PM if you want the rest of the '04 Super Duty manual.

You can subscribe to the online manual direct from Ford at www.motorcraftservice.com, but it's spendy. I pay for www.alldatadity.com, and I believe this is the cheapest way to get OEM service information. The downside is that all of it is written for the dealer tech with access to all the Rotunda special tools, but it's still very relevant to the DIY-er.

The new TCM connector repair kit is coming today. If I still have issues after that I maybe to the point where I have to go to the Ford Dealership. You are right access to all the documentation and diagnostic tool is invaluable at some point!

I replaced the TCM connector and that cured the problem. I now have no codes! This is the end of my saga. I'll keep an eye on the forum in case their are an question I can answer. Total cost for my engine swap was $6000, that included all the extra parts and fluids. Total shop time to install engine was 24 hrs., that $18 in shop fees.

Thank you. All things considered it was a fun project. I lost a lot of sleep thinking about what I had to do next. I have not done this kind of work in many years and I questioned my ability. I have a lot of money invested in a 19 year old van but once I turned the key it was worth it!

I know the feeling about undertaking big projects, it can be overwhelming; that's the reason a lot of projects just get abandoned. Very well done, and thanks for taking the time to post it all, that in itself is a lot of work!

My wife Claudia and I will be attending a 4th of July picnic celebration at the auto shop today ARC | Automotive Restoration Club.
I will also celebrate the completion of my two month project! I have much to be thankful for.

Very cool, and thanks for the link! I need one of those near me!

The Army has shops like that on most installations; you can rent a lift bay for around $3/hour and they have all the tools you'd ever use. I haven't been stationed near one of those in quite awhile though, and in recruiting it's not likely I will be.

Good party at the ARC. Lots of good food and great company. My wife's first social visit there, fits right in!

Table full of picnic food. Check out the Wurlitzer, plays 78's!

So you only paid $18 for 2 month's use of the shop? Or did you somehow roll the van out in between work sessions?

Also, did you do a direct replacement 2v V10 motor? The one thing I would have liked to have done is upgrade to a 3v or at least a PI 2v, but either would have involved replacing too many other components.

BTW -- nice wheels. Your van looks pretty sharp for 19 years old. Mine's 2 years newer and the same color green, but doesn't have the silver tone along the bottom. Is yours a Chateau?

Van was only in the shop for 8 days. We could only work from 8-12 three days a week. Shop rate is $45 for 40 hour week, we only used 32hrs so slightly less. I just went with the direct replacement engine, keep it a simple as possible. My van is a one ton Chateau. We have lived in the southwest all the vans life so it is well kept.
