I've decided its worth fixing keeping

Not as dramatic as the title implies , my 2003 Excursion with 7.3 needs some love and i'm kinda at a crossroad of selling it and getting something newer but fairly quickly realized that anything that I can afford is a clear downgrade. This truck has 190,000 miles but the body is Really clean. To start it needs a new front shock since a bushing failed in a set of Rancho 9000's I added these in 2010 BTW..

What shocks , (I'll change both fronts) do you recommend. ?

I also have a list of to do's

-Replace rubber rad hoses
-Rebuild oil cooler
-Stub shaft U joints both sides
-upgrade water pump flange and Stat (flange has leaked)
-Tranny fluid
-Figure out why on super cold mornings there is sometimes a short delay turning over compared to turning key ( I was thinking maybe Positive cable)
-I have U joints for front drive shaft

Off the top of my head

Lots of guys go Bilstein shocks.
Your list is so short and easy to do I wouldn't consider selling it at all, most definitely not if the body is "really clean"

I was thinking bilsteins..
Story on the truck is this..

Bought it late 2009 from Texas with 110,000 Miles..
I live near Ottawa - Canada..
I installed a DP tuner in 2010..

Just had the Injector cups done.. and changed both harness
Just had a reman #8 injected done.. Injector cost me $1000 installed(ouch)

To insure I am not adding any more 1000$ injectors I was thinking of
buying a stage 1 injector set and tuner from Swamps..

Thoughts on this ?

I'll let Tugly answer that... he'll be along shortly I'm sure.
I had a wish list and in my research depending on how big of injectors you go a hpop and turbo may also soon be on your list.

I believe that the Rancho 9000's are lifetime warranty. Try and contact them and they may be able to send you a new one at no charge. You may have to send in your old one first but I'm not sure.

My 2 bits, If your replacing your stubs get new hubs. You'll be done up front for quite a while.

Shocks Billstiens.. You can call Billstiens and they will give you a part number that they recommend for the trucks stance. Then order them from Summit best price I have found so far but someone might know a cheaper spot. I also agree that if the list is that short and easy keep the truck. So far everything else is a down grade. Jury is still out on the new diesel heard some good things but also some bad ones.

Wow - 5 hours of labor to change one injector!

I have not done it on 7.3 Powerstroke but have on several other Diesels.

I'm not sure how long it should take but I just did all 8 of my injectors this morning. I started at 10 or so and was done by 3:30 or so. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought!

Not bad - for the above shop at 5 hrs. per injector it could have taken all week to change all 8 injectors I suppose...

A nice set of Swaps Stage I Injectors (175's, 160's or some hybrids) with an aftermarket air intake and 4" exhaust will be a nice bump up in power (350'ish HP 700 Torque), great for towing and won't need to change the stock HPOP. All depends what you intend to mostly use the truck for.......
