I extended the headlight ground and replaced the old voltage regulator ground too. All stainless steel (fight the rust).

Yes I know the horn is missing- Going to buy a yacht horn- can be heard for more than 1.5 miles!
I picked up a newer style windshield washer container from the JY.Cleaned it up a bit and installed.

I like the shield that this one has.

on those old voltage regulators.. i find that most have a lot of corrosion on the plug-in and terminals... i usually take the plug off and clean both sides

Good idea. If it doesn't rain on Saturday I'll finish up the headlight stuff and clean the regulator connections.

That's the way it came. But I don't know if this truck really needs it. It doesn't feel that heavy when moving. But then again, I don't plan to do any parallel parking with the engine off, either.

I've been gathering parts all summer. Now it's time to get them ready for installing. So far I have a pair of inner fenders, the radiator support, and some rather cheap made Hooker Headers, and an Airguide tach. Recently I removed the 1inch thick carb spacer. I had to still have the old metal spacer on there so I could attach the PCV hose. Total spacing was about 1 3/4 inches but the automatic kickdown linkage rod didn't reach anymore. Then there was a vacuume leak too. Now it all works. I installed a second air snorkel on the breather yesterday. Pics are below :

I've cleaned up the spark plug wire mess that I had and installed some heat shielding around the fuel line (to prevent vapor lock) when I installed the new fuel pump. Also replaced the dual heater hose outlet with the single type.

Just added a short extension to the breather hose.

Looks good when plug wires are routed around an engine.

Where some guys just kind of put them on with out laying the wires out in lengths order matching them up in the correct length they should be in.
One of my pet peeves!

I use to buy the universal self tailoring wires that you can cut to correct lengths.

It always seems there would be a few wires that would be way to long in the pre-cut fixed ends wiring sets. But now days with the last few sets, I've bought are much better fitting wire pre-cut set days.

The vacuum leak was between the new 1 inch thick composite carb space and the old metal "heated" spacer. It leaked even with new gaskets and RTV on one side. Now I only need to find a new vacuum advance that will fit the Mallory Unilite dist. Mallory called it a vacuum chamber. with part# 29332. Since the merge with MSD (AKA Holley) it was discontinued. I think I found one that might work made by Standard Motor Products part number VC189T. I'll contact them and see.

Thanks Brian1971f100. It's been very slow going. I somehow don't have as much time since I retired ???
