Looking at a 2009 f150
I am looking at upgrading from a 2000 f250 V10 to a 2009 f150 5.4. Getting tired of the rough ride of the superduty. I don't know anything about this year. Does the 2009 have the cam phaser problems like the 05. What about longevity. It already has 150000 miles on it. Will it be able to tow a 25ft travel trailer (no slide outs) and a double jetski trailer? Any info on this model would be great.

I wish I could but no chance. The 09 is pushing it.

I haven't checked it out yet. Its 135 miles away so I will have to wait for the weekend. They won't give out the name of the old owner. I'm just wondering what the common problems are. If it were an early superduty I would know just what to look for. I also didn't know there are 3 different box lengths. This thing is short. That might be a deal breaker. I have a bad habit of seeing something I like and thats all I focus on. I gotta learn to be patient and look around.

I haven't read of any cam phaser issues since the 2004-2008 model trucks but that doesn't mean that some don't exist. I personally couldn't see myself buying a truck with that many miles unless some well documented repairs were made on the truck.

I actually find that to be hard to believe......not saying your wrong but giving out name of previous owner seems like it would be illegal if not at least rude. I wouldn't want to be fielding calls from prospective buyers of something I had traded into a dealer. Otherwise I'd just sell it myself and deal with the buyer myself.
