Super duty crew vs F150 Screw

Some random questions,

1) Why is the "crew" cab for the super duty called just crew, but the F150 crew cab is called super crew?

2) Why do the rear doors on the super duty crew look smaller than super crew?

3) Interior dimensions are bigger for super duty, so is it just my imagination and marketing?

1. Not sure- probably a marketing thing
2. F150 cab has more rear legroom hence longer doors
3. Ive sat in both and superduty cab feels way bigger to me but internal dimensions indicate the f150 cab is comparable in all dimensions but has more rear legroom

I thought it was the exact same cab. And the F150 might look longer due to the shorter 5,5 ft bet maybe.

Below are specs comparing the 2016 models. The rear leg room is only 1.5" more in the SCREW than the CREW.

Anybody know about the 2017 Models (since they now share a lot F150/Super) rear doors will be the same size?

It's been confirmed repeatedly that the cab is the same between the F-150 and the 2017 Super Duty.

I've read this before and seen these specs. I don't know why, but looking carefully at both, I'd say there is at least 4" - 5" more space between the front of the back seat and the back of the front seat in a F150 SCREW than a 2016 generation super duty. That is one of the reasons I waited for the 2017. The back seat in my F150 is great for my kids and dog.

daaaaaan,

The 2017 Super Duty is all new and shares its cab with the F-150 that debuted for the 2015 model year. Interior space will be identical.

However, if you compare a 2016 Super Duty against a 2016 F-150, you will find the F-150 has significantly more rear leg room, just like the previous generation of F-150 crew cabs (2009-2014).

It is true that the current Super Duty feels wider, but the advantage of the F-150 cab will be the increased legroom and the front passenger footwell will no longer be intruded upon. Much as I like the current Super Duty cab, I have sat in a 2016 F-150, and find it perfectly comfortable. I'm 6'5" and 250lbs.

The most important thing is that you can get the super duty crew with a man sized bed. The f150 not so much.

personally, i'm more concerned with the 5" less hip room in the new cab. Being 5"9" tall, i don't need any more leg room. I'm not cramped at all with the current cab.

I wouldnt worry, I'm 6'4 240LBS and I fit perfect in my 15' F150, no problems at all.

Just prepare yourself though, A LOT of people complain on the premium seats in the Platinum. Although I personally find them comfortable and love them!

Thanks for the clarity guys, I'm happy to hear the new Super Duty is the same as the F150 (interior size).

Why is the Super Duty still considered a crew then, and not a screw?

I've heard it both ways, just a marketing term. Refers to a cab config with 4 full size doors.

Thanks. I have a 15 F150 Screw and am very happy with the interior space. It's nice to know that it's the same in the F450 I ordered.
