2016 Superduty puddle lamps

I thought my 350 Lariat came with puddle lamps. Looking on the Ford site and searching here, I cannot find anything about puddle lamps on the superduty's. Looking at the bottom of the mirrors, it looks like the mirrors have plugs where the puddle lamps would go. Has anyone added puddle lamps to their Superduty? Some pics and specs would be nice to see what you did.

i added OEM 2016 ford F150 puddle lights to my 08 up SD mirrors.
i have noticed the pockets you mentioned on some of the newer SD but they are not the shape of the lights i bought at the dealer

also saw a set on the 2017 SD that was at our auto show

I did not add puddle lamps but I did add a row of LED lights under each door. About $12 total for led's and about $10 for harness. On the frame rail behind the rear door there is a wire for running board lights. It was plugged with a cap. Found a metra radio harness for speaker that fit perfectly, wired led's and it works perfect. Unlock doors, they come on and go out when locked or closed. Here is a pic of the harness

That's a good idea, it looks like the King Ranch running boards have lights that come on when you open the door. that's also a good deal for folks that can't see well in the dark.

My 15 is a Lariat and came with factory steps but no lights. I thought this was a well worth it addition.

Can you share some pictures of your set up?

I had my wife send me these pics as I am out of town. If you need a different view or angle just let me know.

Thank you, and thank your wife as well! So are these just the self adhesive LED strips you get at Autozone(or whatever) or did you do something else to insure they don't fall off at some point? I've never used them so I have no idea on the quality of the advesive 'tape' they use.

Upon further review, my XLT doesn't have that stock harness. Must be a Lariat deal. Bummer.

The lights are self adhesive and very strong. I have had no issue with them at all. Tons of rain where I live and they work just fine. I just wired them together and then to the harness. You will need to add wire for length.
Here is what I used:

I used the LED strips, and ran them the entire length of the Rocker Panel.

I'd still like an explanation of how to pull this off without the nice harness that exists for you Lariat and late model XLT guys. I really want to do this, but don't know an easy way to tap into the correct power source.

If you don't have the harness under the cab, then you're going have to tie into one of the dome lights or the light that shines on the bed.

Hopefully someone who has access to a wiring diagram can chime in and tell you what color wires to tap into, and hopefully point you to a disconnect somewhere under the cab or in the engine compartment. You could tap into the wires at the light fixture, but then it's a pain to route your wires through the cab and down to the cab steps.

I like this mod; I need to crawl under my truck to see if that harness is there.

If yours is a regular 2011 XLT....may the force be with you, because mine doesn't have it.
