i have an 03 5.4 with 146000 miles on it. just had new headgaskets put in late jan only put 800 miles on it since then. since i got it back it seems like its low on low end power from idle to 3000 rpm its pretty doggy get it over 3000 its runs great. its burned almost 3 quarts of oil in that 800 miles. i can sit and let it idle for 10 or 15 minutes and then rev it up and it blows out a bunch of blue smoke.
when the head gaskets were done the heads were surfaced and pressure checked and everything was good. just did a compression check on it today and all cylinders were between 172 and 180. can anyone help me here as to what could be wrong.

 

I don't know about the low power, but the accumulated blue smoke "event" after idling is probably the intake seals. If they were replaced, they might have been replaced "badly".

 

Its not black smoke its blue smoke its burning oil.
