Garry, sorry I missed you too. We were on a pretty tight schedule. I was lucky to find a buddy to go along to drive my car back. It took a while at the notary, had to go to creekside to pay for the new tires. I turns out Jay, the owner of the garage, was born about 4 miles from where I was born and raised in Lancaster County. His grandfather owned the farm that was turned into a development where my parents moved when they moved off our farm.

It is solid. Steering is tight, the clutch needs adjusted. Original seat is phenomenal. The bed floor will need some work. I am pleased.

On the return trip we did cut through NY on rte 426 to get to Corry and rte. 6.

It would have been good to meet you.

No Joe. But maybe I should make one. The Yblock really sounds good on this. It has a nice rumble. It sounds better than my 54, not sure why, maybe it is the short tailpipe.

Great looking truck!! I'm glad you finally got it home.
I had a 59 Ford Ranchero that had the foot operated windshield washer pump. Worked great.

Do your neighbors enjoy F350s parked on the street? Some of the more, shall we say "leafy" neighborhoods... the denizens do not always share our enthusiasm. Hm.
No one has complained to me and they probably wouldn't to my face. I get along great with my neighbors. Remember I am selling my 70 F350. As a matter of fact it is parked at his shop now since I transferred the license plate and had to get it off the street. So I think people prefer the 55 over the 70.

Good job, Abe. I was afraid you didn't get back when there was no word.

Geez. That's quite a ride! Super clean. I imagine (could be wrong) that is the original paint? Sure seems to match the original Ford Meadow Green perfectly.

Do you know any history on it? I'm still digging to find the original owners of my truck. It would be neat to pull the old girl into their driveway to say howdy.

PS-Looks like you're missing a lug nut on your front left wheel.

Sweet! Great to see another F350 in the fold. What gear does Jimmy have? I'd like to take some extended trips in my 5.14 geared 56 and wonder what I am in for.

History: original owner owned a fruit farm. They used the truck to take fruit to the market. I found the original 55 owners manual in the glove box. In it was a slip of paper that had "Mrs. MçGinty: plums peaches pears."

The owners died and their two sons took over the farm. The older son died and the younger son was unmarried and a recluse and ecentric and a hoarder. He sold the farm and all the contents including two trucks, the 55 and a red 52 F1. The PO I bought it from operates a vineyard now and only used the truck sparingly maybe to get a load of fertilizer.

It is not the original paint. It was repainted, not well though, about 5 years ago.

Congrats Abe. Your "new" f350 looks great. That must have been fun picking it up and being able to drive it home. I have enjoyed my '53 over the years and it has hauled a lot without complaining. What size tires did you put on?

Thanks, Joe. See you in June. My spot is #E99. I plan on driving one of my trucks there. After a 200 mile trip with the F350 , a trip to Carlisle is a piece of cake. Or I may bring my 54. It depends on how much NOS parts I have to sell. If I need more room I'll bring the F350.

An update on my trip. The odometer does not work on my new truck. Speedo works fine as checked by my friend that was driving my car behind me but the odometer does not work. The tenths digit turns but the other digits do not. So I had to figure out the number of miles I drove from fill up to fill up by using map quest with the same exact route I took.

My mpg's was 10.9. The total miles traveled was 197 miles. So 11 mpg's is not bad.

I checked the data plate today. It has a B. I would assume that is for Buffalo, which is pretty close to that part of PA.
