Rear tank removal, still drivable?

Restoring and doing fab work on the rear section of my frame soon and my rear tank is empty it leaks and needs replacing. So I'm gonna drop it while doing the work. my question is can the truck still be driven daily with no rear tank or will this allow air into the fuel system?

As long as you leave the in cab fuel tank selector on the front tank you can drive the truck with no problems. I would tape or somehow plug the fuel lines to keep dirt out of the lines, once the rear tank is removed, if you are going to drive it for a while.
