This is for 2001, 4.6 L, S'crew, RWD. The very back of the leaf spring is bolted to a cradle. This cradle is bolted to a metal "U" that is riveted to the truck frame. I need this cradle on the Right and Left side. I also need to know if any bolts or other hardware is needed. BTW when I bought the truck they said it had a Factory lowering kit on it, but have never been able to find any reference to this.

the bolts on the "H" hanger are not going to come off. They will be frozen tight.. Too hard to cut with a sawzall...... Get a small grinder with a 4-5 inch diameter cut off wheel .030 thick and cut near the head and nut on each bolt.

 

Sounds like you need a replacement hanger and shackle kit. The hanger is what is currently riveted to the frame and the shackle sits in that while the other side of the shackle connects to the leaf spring eye.

Usually if the hanger is bad the shackles aren't that far behind. It might be easier for you to cut everything off and start with all new bolts, that way you are not wasting time or money trying to salvage old bolts.

Not too sure what the mean by a factory lowering kit. We sell hundreds of these kits and have installed our fair share of them and never came across something like that.

 

I must have gotten the biggest idiot at the dealer, I told him what they were and he kept coming up with the mount, which is in good shape.
