strange elecrtical issues, ignition cylinder?
Hey all, first post here. I appreciate the help. I just purchased an 88 F250. A few weeks ago i noticed that the power windows, radio, and wipers would stop working, also the rear anti lock light would come on. This is intermittent. The truck still runs fine and the power locks and air/heat/fan, gauges and lights still work. I did notice that the Ignition cylinder lock is sloppy and if i play with it and turn it back and forth enough sometime i can get it all back. Has anyone seen this or know what might be the problem? I'm assuming the cylinder lock is not making some contacts correctly but i don't want to just start replacing things for no reason. Thanks in advance.

the ignition switch may be separating. it is sorta of a common occurrence with these older trucks. when the windows wipers and radio stop working, try reaching up on top of the column and squeezing the switch. if everything comes back on, you found your problem
the switch is not that hard to swap out. remove the lower dash covers, loosen the column to drop it an inch or so, and then you can see in to unbolt the switch.
