I've looked high and low and can't find a grill similar to the one below. I know it won't be exact since it's a different model but I'm looking for one real close for an 87 f-150. All the ones I'm finding have about twice as many smaller horizontal pieces and they are closer together.

 

Those are kind of old-school, it was an 80s thing. They used to be everywhere, now I don't think anyone makes them anymore. You would have to find a used one on eBay probably. IIRC those are called "tube grilles".

I believe NPD (national parts depot) says they have them but they don't show a picture of it so I would call them before ordering.

All I'm finding on the sites suggested are the billet aluminum style grill with roughly 15 horizontal slats. Can's find anything with about 10 horizontal bars like the one pictured. I'll keep searching.

 

How hard would it be to make a grill for an 80-83 fit an 87?

 

It's a completely different front end. It will not be easy.
