dually wheels on srw
#4
By putting the dually wheels on a SRW truck, on the rear you are drastically changing the side load on the wheel bearings, causing probable bearing, and maybe even axle spindle failure. On the front you are also drastically changing the side load on the unit bearing hub assembly plus you are changing the front end steering geometry to the point of creating a dangerous situation. That is why on a dually the front wheels have an adapter between the hub and the wheel and the wheel is mounted with the dish in, to keep the pivot point that runs through the ball joints and center of the tread at the ground at relatively the same spot. The truck would be at best very scary to drive and at worst very dangerous to you and others.

YES. Also on the front the pivot point of the axle/knuckle joint would be so far inboard from the tire contact patch that even a moderately deep, 3 or 4 inch, water puddle or even a pot hole, could actually rip the steering wheel out of your hands at highway speeds. If you want the deep dish look you will need to go with wider single wheel rims, they will still move the load and pivot point out a little from stock but at least would not be dangerous to drive. You will have to maintain the same back spacing on your wheels as the stock ones thus the outer edge does move out some giving you the wide track look, they will still be harder on the bearings, primarily the fronts in that case but livable.
