Looking at getting into a 2010 to 2014

Hello! I currently have a 2000 f250 diesel I'm looking at selling and getting into a crew cab 4x4 fx4 or lariat. I sometimes tow between 6 to 10k I'm leaning more towards a 5.0 due to longevity. We also have have a 2013 2.0 escape so we are familiar with the eco boost.

You'll need to shorten your search to 11-14 if you only want 5.0 or ecoboost.......and I'd recommend shorter like 13-14 for the 5.0 as they've had some cylinder distortion problems.

That's good to know, how common is that? I prefer the look of the projector headlights.

go for a 6.2 and call it done. 2013/2014 had the projector headlights as a factory option.

the 6.2 was availible only 2011-14. (in the 150s) and they are rare. but they havent been troublesome at all. they sure can move......

I would suggest 13-14 models only. The 11-12 models had some issues with the 5.0 and rampant issues with the EcoBust. Avoid those headaches. The 13s got revisions that helped some of the EcoBust issues. I haven't heard of any 5.0 problems on the 13-14 models, except for very early model year 13s that were actually built in 12.

I don't think there are rampant issues with the EB, it's more like far and few between. If you are towing 10K, take a look at the Max Tow option or at least make sure you're getting 373 or 355 rear gears.
