Trans temperature

Hey there I'm wondering how to tell what my trans temperature is. i have a aftetmarket trans cooler mounted in front of the rad. It also seems that when i pull the dipstick it's pretty hot and I'm wondering if it may be over heating thanks

Yes there is. You can measure it with an temp gun. You could hold a thermometer to the pan. You could put a trans temp gauge on it, depending on what trans you have.

Most transmissions run around 200F. That's pretty hot if you touch it.

Not that I remember. It isn't the ideal method, but it can be done to get an approximation of trans temp. To really know the trans temp you need a sensor inside the trans. Like the stock sensor on the solenoid body.
