i am having a hard time finding this part. It has to be the fuel filter and it is leaking. Can anyone give ma a idea where to look? the filter does have FORD written on it

 

That doesn't look like a fuel filter to me. I can't swear to it, but I'd guess an EVAP canister. If it is an EVAP, then leaking is more a symptom of something else being wrong and filling it with gas rather than something wrong with the canister itself.

 

That's a fuel filter. It looks almost identical to the fuel filter housing that was on my '87 Ford Ranger. It's probably just a bad o-ring. A new replacement filter usually comes with the o-ring.

 

It is not a fuel filter on an 89, it is a single tank fuel reservoir with a check valve in it. In 86-87 they did have filter in them but in 1989 they moved the FI filter up by the high pressure pump. As said above you can buy a fuel filter for a older truck like a 1986 Bronco II and throw the filter away and use the "O" ring if it is leaking or needs to be cleaned out.


May or may not have the filter in it depending on the model year.
