Dizzy Help

Hey guys my dizzy is shot and need a new one but I'm not sure which one I want/need. I was hoping for a little improvement over stock but I don't wanna pay $300. I'm also confused on the type I need. I know it's not vacuum advance so does that mean I need a mechanical advance or computer controlled advance. Which one is the stock dizzy? Any who it's going on my 95 EFI 460. What are some recommendations? I've never had to buy one.

It is a CCD distributor with no mechanical or vacuum advance.
All the advance is done by a CCD type PCM Computer.
Just go to any auto parts store and tell them what you got and buy one.
Take it home and stick it in and set it to 10deg BTDC with a timing light with the SPOUT shorting bar jumper removed.
Then put the SPOUT shorting bar jumper back in so the PCM can do its thing.

Are there any aftermarket distributors that will work? I didn't see any other than stock remans.

No. You will not gain any more performance from replacing the distributor with an aftermarket one. The stock Ford TFI ignition system is very strong, and the timing is all controlled by the computer.

Just get a stock reman, stick it in, set the base timing to 10* (or 12* if you want a little more performance) BTDC and go.

I'd argue unless you are drag racing, WOT all the time, you want a distributor with vacuum advance, always.

Mechanical vs. Vacuum advanced is irrelevant here, where the timing is completely computer controlled.
