Should I buy? 1966 f250
I have a coworker whose 96yr old father was placed into assisted living in his driveway in Florida has sat a 1966 Ford F-250 2wd new carb and rebuilt engine in 1993 20,000 miles ago it has sat for 5yrs again outside in Florida. Im going to offer between 300-500. All opinions welcome.

If you have a sincere interest and will go thru the steps of getting it running again and making it a driver, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR. You have noticed the headers, 4 brl intake, possibly more AND the tailgate door suggests it's a dumping bed. A lot of rust to repair for sure. Will it suit YOUR needs. Someone will buy this truck and as it sits and would probably pay more than your offer

If you can get it for 300-500 that sounds like a good deal. That truck would be $1000 I bet up here in New England (although not sure what the market is like in FL). Interesting to see all the rot from a FL truck, I guess you do get a lot of rain. Got a power inverter in there? Whats up with the 110V household plug?
Is this truck something you would use? Are you good at body work? Looks like it will need a touch, does the engine turn freely? Cab mounts solid? All in all, it doesn't look to bad, afterall it is 50 years old. Looks like a good candidate for restoration and put back to work!

My humble 2-cents....even if the truck was free, by the time you adress all the not-obvious rust, you'll still have multiple times in it than its worth. We've all seen the members here looking for cab mounts, beds, floor pans, drip rails....etc. If the buyer is looking for a long term project...there it is. But, easy for me to say, for the dry climate cars we have out west!

It was assembled in Kansas City MO (K in VIN) and ordered from the Kansas City MO Ford District Sales Office (DSO 53).
If sold new in FL, it would have a DSO of 24 = Jacksonville FL
Besides the rain, it's very humid in FL / I could never understand New Englanders affinity for FL because of the humidity and hurricanes.

IMO, going to require more time, labor, and primarily money to get the truck in drivable condition? Based on pic's suspect there are serious rust issues; suggest inspect closely, if there's welding involved; particularly with cab mount, floor pans, radiator support mounts, etc., it is not worth it. After reconditioning a 65 Flareside, was one step removed from the bone-yard, to drivable condition I have come to the conclusion, let the other guy put the effort, time, and money into it?
Anyhow, had an urge to chime in!
