I remember seeing those in my grandparents junk drawer. I wish I still had some of that stuff.

My condolences Ross.

We have the same thing here in Canada but they are called The War Amps. The service is still offered but the license plate design stopped long ago.

Condolences Ross. Sorry to hear of your loss.
Yeah, we had those in California too. Late '40's to mid '50's as I recall.

Just wanting to add my condolences as well, Ross. The death of a loved one is always a stark reminder that our time here on earth is short, and we shouldn't get too caught up in the things of this world. Heaven is our real home. May God grant you peace; and hope in the Easter victory over death we so recently celebrated.

My condolences on your loss, Ross. Sadly its something we all face eventually in this life.
I remember seeing those little tags on my Mom's keyring when I was a kid. Brings back fond memories.

Ross sad to hear about your mother. I have not had to do that yet and dread the day. It is more fun to go through the stuff when they are here so that they can tell us not to throw that out. . How about the license plate number books that the counties used to give out that won't happen anymore.

I remember those on a set of my mom's keys. Condolences on the passing of your mom. It's gotta be tough duty going thru and cleaning everything out. Probably brings back some good memories but tough nonetheless.

My condolences as well.

I haven't seen one of those since I was a kid. Here's another one.

I found these two in my parents house after Mom died and Dad sold the house. I used the 1958 tag on my 54 key chain and the 1976 Bicentennial tag on my 70 F350 keychain.

Ross, sorry for your loss. Do you have siblings to help you with your parents estate?

Ross sorry to hear about your mom. She will still be with you in a lot of good memories I'm sure.
I remember my grand farther getting mad at us for hiding his keys then telling him it was ok because he had that little plate that would get them sent back to him. He didn't think that would work.

I remember those too but never thought of collecting them or anything else back then, wish I had taken all the old license plates too that were hanging in the garage too, but didn't
My condolences to Ross..

Mom's always a hard one to lose, even worse when you are the one who has to take care of the estate - Finding stuff like those little tags can throw you throw thru a loop
My prayers are with you and your family
