The wheels have no play whatsoever, but they still freely spin.
Road noise is considerably less and there's no ominous rubbing noise while cornering.

FTE rocks.
Good stuff. You checked with he wheels off the ground, right ?

Yes. All adjustments and checks were done with the wheels off the ground.

Just noticed this post. I should point out that the image was from the first time I did the bearings (didn't take pics this last go-round) and that's BEFORE removal so it's not my grease. The stuff I used to pack them in each instance was some decent-quality red lithium grease designed for disc brake-equipped vehicles. I pack them thoroughly to coat every surface with just as much grease as it'll hold, then smear a layer on the outside, on the surface of the race and slop a wee bit more on it even after installation.

You only make this mistake once, well, more accurately stated, you won't make this mistake again once you learn the proper way to seat, back off, and then properly torque the bearings when installing.

That is not the voice of experience talking....honest....

Ok, I'm lying.

Hmmm, do you mind explaining in detail how you define the word "pack" as you use it regarding your bearings?
