My friend is building a custom rig with a cummins and a high/low SAE 2 transmission. The drivetrain is sitting on an engine stand in his shop, it's fun to see him start it up and shift gears.

I don't know which cummins it is. It is either the 5.9L or something much larger. I know that he's talking about doubling up his frame to support it.

This rig is nuts. He's building all of his adapters, axles, knuckles, etc himself and totally custom.

With the frame he is either using his old 5-ton frame cut down with a Chevy 3500 crew cab bolted on, or he is going to buy a 2nd chevy 3500 crew-cab frame, rip 1/2" out, set it inside the other frame and weld it all up.

Crazy stuff. Sorry I don't have all of the specifics. But I know his transmission and transfer cases are only available in heavy machinery.
