How 'bout a G2G this summer

This chapter site has been awful quite here so I was wondering if anybody would be interested in doing a G2G?

I know that we had one each year up until about 2 years ago, but they were always in the winter, which made it tough for us guys with older 'classic' trucks. I will be at the F100 Supernationals next month, so if anybody wants to meet there it would be cool. But I was thinking of doing a meet for lunch someplace in June or July, any interest?

Joe; Timing is always a issue with me; but I will support a GTG this summer if possible.

Heya Joe. GTG sounds great, hope things play out so we'll be back there for it!

Timing, dead forum, and the fact that TN is about 550 miles wide doesn't lend itself to an easily planned GTG. And all the destination points outside Nashville are way out east.

Glen, I agree. But Nashville is not even in the center of the state. It was discussed several years ago that the state should be split into 2 or 3 chapters, but the participation rate has never really been steady.
Lariat97 tried back then to get some activity going, but then he moved back to LA. so we had to elect a new Chapter Leader. When Neal 97 250 was elected he tried to get more participation, and he did. But most of Neal's activities centered around the diesel crowd and that seemed (to me) to put off the non diesel crowd.
I don't know what happened to Neal but we have been without a leader for almost 2 years now.

I know before Neal took over as chapter leader, Grey Wolf (also goes by Dutch) took on CL duties. He is in the county just about mine, so way out there in West TN. Back then there were several attempts to do a GTG with (I hear) him being out some money on stuff when hardly anyone showed. I wish things were different, but it is what it is. Ain't what it ain't.

Yes, when I learned that Neal was gone I had talked to Dutch about him stepping in, but he wouldn't touch it. I thought about taking the spot, but I have had some health issues over the past 2 years and I had already committed myself to doing Truckstock 2015 for the 48-56 group.
Neal did the G2G's in the Knoxville area, so it was good for the folks in the east end of the state, but too far for folks out west. Gordonsville would be about the middle of the state, but I don't think there is any place in the area to do it.
