Suggestion for installing inline coolant filter

Can I connect my IPR coolant filter inline with to the heater hose as pointed out in the diagram below?

I want to make sure that installing the coolant filter inline will work. I already have a Sinister Diesel bypass filter and I want to remove it and the T fitting and replace it with the larger IPR coolant filter and connect it inline.

I bought the kit with the manifold that connects to the top of the oil cooler housing. I would rather connect the filter before the oil cooler. I talked with Ed from FICM repair and I think this is what he suggested over the phone.

I have already cut the heater hose for the Sinister. I have enough 3/4" heater hose to mount the filter on the frame rail under the van. I want to use a barb fitting on each hose that goes back to the filter housing.
