This morning my preset am radio stations were only a light static. I did a scan and got nothing. Fm works fine. Is there an antenna somewhere that fell off and is easy to replace or do I need to take it to the dealer?

2015 f150 lariat w/ navigation (301a I think).

 

Pretty sure there is only one antenna connection; there is only one antenna on the outside. So you probably have some issue with the radio itself.

 

Did the antenna come off in a car wash or did you take it to one and they forgot to put it back on?

 

The antenna on the pasanger side looks just fine. All fm stations are strong.

 

Same thing happened to me today. AM stations just have static, they all worked fine yesterday. FM works fine and so do Sirius. Did you ever gets your AM stations to work again??

 

Ford dealer fixed it. I'm not sure what they really did. Took them a long time. First they said they replaced the am antenna base and said it was fine for a minute then the whole system crashed. They said they "jumped it" and it came back on but with no am radio. Finally she said they were going to replace the computer behind the screen. Strange thing is when I finally picked it up with the am radio working all my presets and phone were still programmed. They were all lost the first time I took it in.

Another strange thing is the daytime running lights had quit working. When I told the service consultant she told me it didn't have daytime running lights. Well now that the radio has been fixed the lights work again too.

 

Thanks. My front airbag light and AM radio quit working at the same time, I'll have to go check my DRLs now.

 

My AM radio in my '15 502A quit working a couple of weeks ago, but I have not had it back to the dealer yet to have it diagnosed. All other functions I believe are normal, just no AM. I tune the stations I want to listen to through TuneIn or IHeart on my phone and Bluetooth them to the truck. Not as convenient but it's a workaround until I have it repaired.

 

Anyone have this problem wiht their AM radio and had it resolved? Mine quit working again 2 days after leaving the dealor.

 

yes, happened to me. your reception will probably get worse. I took it to the dealership on the day their radio guy was in and he fixed it under my warranty. Said it was a transistor i think.

 

I had mine fixed several months ago, I think around September 2016. They replaced the APIM or some such acronym. In the old days it would have been called the Radio. It has worked fine ever since.

 

AM radio on mine works as expected. 2 years and running.

So I have same problem and need to replace APIM module? or anyother way to fix it by myself?

 

I've never had anything tuned to AM in the three years that I've had my truck. If I can remember to I'll check it.
