Rusty passenger side intake manifold

So I currently have a bit of a rust issue on the passenger intake manifold and on parts of the block above it. I was wondering if there is a way to coat it with some high temp clear or something idk to contain the rust until I am able to buy a new passenger side intake manifold. It's probably fine, but hey I worry about my truck.

Dremel the heavy stuff with a small wire wheel and a shop vac to collect the mess (fluids cleaned out of valley first). Rinse with isopropyl alcohol (it evaporates, and does a better cleaning than brake cleaner). You can then spray everything with a rust converter.

^ Would you also suggest that product on sheet metal? For the last few months I have been spray painting cab corners, etc. but rust pops back through and is getting worse every week.

Eventually want new rockers, etc. welded in but trying to save whats there for now...

That exhaust manifold is like $90. Get a new one, soak the old ones bolts with your favorite penetrating oil (Kroil, PB Plaster, acetone and atf mix, etc.) for a few days and swap that sucker out. You may want to get a new set of manifold bolts too.

He wrote 'intake', not 'exhaust' manifold.

Sorry Jason... that's an intake manifold - not such a minor task to replace.

As for the rust converter and the body - the stuff works pretty good as long as all the heavy rust is removed. It works on just the light remnants of rust and paint over that does a good job of preventing a re-occurrence. For the bigger stuff, the guys here recommend something like Chassis Saver.
