Having a hard time getting Motorcraft ZD-9 glow plugs locally. The NAPA store down the road has Autolite and said they are actually the Motorcraft ZD-9s just rebranded.
Anyone know if that's true or have any experience with them?
I'm less picky about what glow plugs I'll use -- I'm happy with the DieselRX/Wellman ones. But I'd /never/ recommend Autolites. They just don't work, for some reason.
i don't know about those amazon glow plugs. they claim they are motorcrafts, but made in china.
motorcraft/beru glow plugs are either made in Germany, or Ireland. not china.
i would get the glow plugs from rock auto. they sell true motorcraft/beru glow plugs.

I dunno the brand is motorcraft and you can see Beru on the picture of the one. amazon has an excellent return policy if they arent what they say they are. Not everything that's made in china is made poorly either. I have several cheepo chinese circulation pumps that have outlasted grundfos in several applications for 1/10 the cost.
I have autolites in my truck, works fine for me for 2 years. I already bought it this way. I just refuse to believe someone would produce a crap thing for years and they would be still in business. On the other hand the price difference among them and motorcraft is barely noticable, so why not to use Ford stuff.
Jan, a few lucky people get lucky with the autolites. but unfortunately most have the pleasant experience of putting them in, getting one start, and then finding them burned out the next time they try to start up.
