Project: "used to be a 96 4x4 crew"

Not much happening lately. I did pick up a roof panel from an Expedition with a sun roof. My roof is dented pretty bad amd has a bunch of screw holes so may as well upgrade. I also got another set of wheels I like better, 20" Harleys with 35" Toyos.
I'm backing off the Mustang dash for now, going back and forth on a bumpside, dentside, or 9th gen. I really like the bump dash but it's welded in and procuring one will be a task.

In the picture of the Mustang dash, look at the steering wheel. Someone cut circles into the steering wheel at the 10:00 and 2:00 o'clock positions. Why did they do that? I have a 1996 F150 that someone did the same thing and it has bugged me why would someone do that to a steering wheel that (in my case) was otherwise perfect.

The Expedition roof is home and I found the glass at the u-pull, I'll have to go get that.
After more agonizing over the dash I have settled on a last minute entrant. 08 Super Duty. I can't get my hands on one locally without paying out the nose but a yard 4 hours away will ship me one for about $170 or I can pick it up for $120. It's just the shell for that price so I'll be nickle and dimed for all the little stuff off ebay, or I have an idea of bending up my own facia from sheet aluminum or steel on the brake at work.

The Expedition roof measures 44" between the drip channels and the glass is 40" wide. If I cut it at that 44" mark and cut a 44" wide hole in the factory roof it should drop in and be butt welded together.
I was going to use the sunroof from the donor Explorer for my Sport Trac V8 conversion, but it's only 31" wide and would look too small. Now it can go in the ST.
