Idle

Honestly you don't have an idea what else to do?
How about the check engine light?
Is there any code set?
A Scanner looking at live data might show one or both fuel tables out of limits.
Then you act on that data for repairs.
As of the moment, you have nothing to report but rough idle.
Need to see why, then do the repairs.
Good luck.

Idle Air Control.
it located on the rear of the upper intake, back by the firewall.
on the 4.6 and 5.4...can't speak for the 4.2 v6. Which engine and year is yours?
they can get sticky/dirty and cause a fluctuating idle...rollercoastering from 700- to maybe as high as 1800-2000ish. They can be removed and cleaned but some times cleaning may take one then one time or they just won't respond and a new one is in order. FYI cheep aftermarket one will not perform well , better off getting a motorcraft.
I found it best to remove the whole throttle body housing, reasons being, #1 that the IAC will come off with it and then it easier to remove and replace. #2 there is a couple of EGR port internal to the throttle body housing that also can get plugged and cause some erratic running issues and one can clean those out too. Not hard, figure on a 2-3 hrs
