In case you forgot, I have a toy hauler too.. although it is a TT one and not near as fancy as Roy's
I've already try to prepare the wife that she may have to sleep in the TH "if" the camper is gone at the time of our next week long trip. She was NOT amused!!!!
I've already emailed the factory rep that we got it from as well. And Rodney, that very thing was on my mind!!

Monty, I purchased my Montana about the same time you bought yours. I have been watching your posts on the issues that you had with the AC and now this. I have to tell you that I would be losing my mind. Bravo Zulu to you sir for keeping a cool head.

Thank you Lee! Most people do not realize how big of a hot head I am at times as I try to keep it under wraps. However, this is exactly the kind of thing that sets me off. I have already emailed the factory rep, Montana/Keystone customer service and Lippert Components today. I also have the NHTSA form waiting in my inbox to fill out about the frequency of Lippert frame failures, if this is what it turns out to be. I'm in the public safety business and anything that may be a hindrance to that makes my blood boil. I can't tell you how many RV accidents I've seen over the years, most of them NOT the RVer's fault, but more than a few were linked to faulty or failing equipment.
We have wanted a Montana or a Cardinal 5er for years, and when this floor plan came out, it sealed the deal. I'm now gonna have to sit back for a bit and see what kind of customer service they have and how they back their products. It took some dealing with Forest River, but they came through after I gave my "consultant's" card to my dealer, but nonetheless, they delivered. I love the rig, for now, but really despise the workmanship I've found so far in places. A couple of RV techs have said this is typical across all brands nowadays, which is a shame.
I will keep you guys posted as this may be my "go to" place when I need to vent.

Well, I sure hope they make it right for you, whatever that takes. My last 5er was a Montana High Country, and there were things about it that bothered me in the workmanship. While shopping around all available brands, like you, I found that the quality was consistent. I ended up with this Montana because my wife was looking for a front living plan and I gave her limits on length and pin weight. She found this one (3711FL) and fell in love with it.
We so far we have had a few small issues, but are pretty pleased with it. Actually my wife is totally in love with it. I hope you guys end up with the same feeling about yours.

Monty, from my personal experience with a factory. Keep a log book as to who and what was said. Even talking to your local dealer, keep a log. This saved me on some repairs. I had 70 items they had to repair over 2 years. It was so bad the first year with major items they extended our warranty for a year. But wait until everything is fixed then ask for this via your dealer.
I jumped all over our dealer about repairs when we first got it and told him he had this timeline or it would be turned over to a lawyer. He then jumped on the factory and things went fast. We was placed on a emergency list for parts. Instead of 2 weeks they had parts next day.
Hope you get things fixed fast so your family can enjoy the remaining summer.
Dave

Monty,

This is hard to read and is way too common a story. Can't imagine living this. Good luck and I hope the problem is fixed quickly. Love following along with your shared vacation picture threads.
