The truck is a 1990 w/7.5. Its getting a rear disc swap, changing brake master and going to hydroboost, no rabs anymore. People are telling me the tone ring is also a vss and will cause issues with the engine.... I dunno about that, maybe on some newer shizzle but I would like some FTE input.

 

What trans does the truck have? If it's the E4OD you could be in trouble. Simple test.. unplug the RABS sensor and take the truck for a drive, if the trans shifts normally you're good, if not you will have to find a different solution.

 

On a 1990 the VSS used for the computer is on the transfer case. The sensor in the rear axle is used for the RABS only.

 

Right on, that was my assumption as well. Its a 5 speed zf.
